EUROJUSTIS. Scientific indicators of confidence in justice: tools for policy assessment

2008 - 2011

EUROJUSTIS was a project designed to provide EU institutions and Member States with new evidence-based indicators for the assessment of public confidence in criminal justice and fear of crime.

The project developed and piloted survey-based indicators of public confidence in justice. Accessible tools for presenting and interpreting the indicators were developed. Besides developing scientifically credible indicators, the project build consensus across Member States about the importance of assessing crime policy against criteria of public confidence.  EUROJUSTIS partners included London School of Economics, King’s College London, University of Sheffield and the Dutch research institute NSCR. The project was co-funded by the EU-FP7 programme. HEUNI’s main responsibility was to disseminate the results and progress of the project.
