Processing of personal data in the services of the European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control, affiliated with the United Nation 

HEUNI processes personal data with care and in compliance with its data protection obligations. In our operations, we comply with the GDPR, current legislation and the authorities’ guidelines on the processing of personal data. We process personal data based on the data subject’s consent, in order to fulfil a legal obligation or when completing a task with a legitimate interest. 

At HEUNI, personal data is processed only by persons who have the right to process it and whose work tasks require it. HEUNI will not pass on personal data to third parties, except with the data subject’s own consent or based on a legal obligation. When we work with sub-processors in our services, we are also responsible for their actions in accordance with the GDPR.

The Data Protection Ombudsman monitors compliance with the data protection legislation in Finland.

Your data protection related rights

If you have participated in a project, subscribed to HEUNI’s newsletter, or otherwise shared or granted us access to your personal data, you have rights guaranteed by the GDPR. You have the rights to request access to your personal data, rectification or erasure of your personal data, and restriction of their processing.
